Data infrastracture and augmented intelligence for sustainable development

logotip
Status In progress
Acronym PiPi
Summary The project develops an infrastructure for data storage, management, and utilization based on generative artificial intelligence in the domains of environmental protection and renewable energy sources. The project focuses on: (i) the creation of a data space that enables secure integration of heterogeneous data sources through data cataloguing and semantic standardization, supported by a flexible architecture tailored to diverse user needs; and (ii) the development of a Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) system based on large language models that leverages the collected data for content generation. The RAG system is optimized for domain-specific applications through enhanced document retrieval strategies, the selection and integration of domain-adapted language models, and a comprehensive evaluation framework that ensures the reliability and accuracy of the generated information. Key innovations of the project include the development of a flexible data space architecture with clearly defined semantic relationships, the implementation of advanced algorithms for rapid retrieval of relevant information, and evaluation methodologies tailored to the specific characteristics of environmental and energy domains. The expected outcomes will enable researchers, decision-makers, and practitioners to access complex datasets and generate insights grounded in trustworthy knowledge sources, significantly accelerating informed decision-making in critical areas of sustainability.
