Improving IT service design: A service science taxonomy and framework for identifying user requirements

| Summary | Current challenges related to service management and development arise from the increasing complexity of the relationships between the stakeholders involved as well as the necessity of providing value-added services, which indicates the need for integrated and interdisciplinary approaches to understanding the domain. The project is focused on contributing to a deeper, systematic and more precise understanding of the domain of Service Science Management with an emphasis on information services (shorter IT services). Service science represents an interdisciplinary approach to the study, design, development and innovation of services. Therefore, the main goal of this project will be to develop a taxonomy of service science that will serve to classify terms and concepts in the field of service management, understanding and consistency in defining services, their components and relationships of all stakeholders within the business environment. A special focus will be placed on the domain of IT service design and therefore an ontology will be developed that will describe the concepts of the domain of IT service design (as separate subdomains within service science), their mutual relationships and properties, and constraints on them. A key contribution of the project will be the developed framework for identifying the requirements of IT service users, which will enable the structured and comprehensive collection, analysis and documentation of user requirements for IT services, with a special emphasis on application in the context of online education with the use of generative artificial intelligence tools that facilitate the collection and analysis of user requirements. |
